IRVINGTON FOURSQUARE
FULL HOUSE FURNISHING + KITCHEN/BASEMENT RENOVATION

After working on their office and previous home, Wise Design was approached to help with our client's forever family home located in the historic neighborhood of Irvington. The scope included a basement renovation, full house furnishing selections and, after an unfortunate small fire, a full kitchen renovation as well.

The home has a lovely connection between the interior and exterior thanks to custom landscaping, designed by our client's father. A graceful, elegant home with considered elements that our clients wanted to feel 'grown up' but not too precious as they have a young child. The new basement has a playroom with climbing equipment, an art center and a lego/trail building table as well as a large comfy sofa for family movie nights. The living room with its new furnishings and lighting is a place of peace, designed for evenings reading by the fire.

The new kitchen features custom inset cabinetry with a furniture leg base, painted in Shaded White by Farrow and Ball. The feature wall of high variation tile throughout the day, making this space feel dynamic and alive. English-style hutch cabinetry, brass hardware and faucet plus custom wood shelves add warmth.

The home strikes the perfect balance between elegance and approachability. In each space, the design is fun, fresh and gracious- much like our clients themselves!
