Reveal: Introducing a Sleek Update for a SW Modern Home

This week we are excited to introduce you to an amazing project - updating this beautiful mid- century home for a lovely family in the SW Hills of Portland! Our SW Modern Home was just featured in DWELL and now we're delighted to share each step of our design story for this spectacular project!!!

We first met this sweet family two and a half years ago, when they approached Wise Design to help them with some renovations and furnishings for their 1960 home. The home had beautiful mid-century bones, but was in need of updates to the kitchen and master bathroom. We were brought on to help with these spaces, but they also wanted some immediate help with furnishing. They had an upcoming event and needed some assistance preparing their living room/dining room area for the guests. Because of the timing, this was the first area we tackled.

The clients had previously worked with Fieldwork Design + Architecture and had made several beautiful updates to the main floor of the home. Fieldwork had updated the flooring, fireplace surround, included some warm wood accents and had sourced some furnishings in this room, but the clients had held off on renovating the kitchen and master bath. The clients took a bit of a break before they brought us on over a year later. When we started the project, we wanted to build on the design elements that Fieldwork had introduced into the home.

Throughout the design process, we kept both the era of the home and Fieldwork's design in mind to bring a cohesive and respectful update to this lovely mid-century home.
