Our final space to reveal from the Hawthorne Modern is just so much fun! These spaces were recently featured in the Oregon Home magazine Spring Issue! The kid's room & playroom were designed for our client's young child and we wanted to create spaces that were fun and comfortable. The end result is two really fantastic spaces for a child's imagination to run wild!
Playroom
This playroom was made for fun! We designed this colorful room with plenty of storage & organization for toys, but above all this is a space for a child's imaginative play to have free rein!
We selected this super amazing Wilderness wallpaper from local Makelike Design in a lighter colorway to keep this space light & bright for play during the day.
The central item in the room is a large play table we had custom made by Clarkbuilt with colorful orange-red hairpin legs from DIY Hairpin Legs. We paired it with these super cute EO Elephant Chairs. How cute are they? For the side walls, we added a color block in a soft-subtle blue to compliment the wallpaper.
On the opposite side of the room, we added some cute & functional toy storage from Ikea and a fun little peg board from Ply Design Studios for hanging those prized possessions. We also brought in some wonderful color with a rainbow bunting banner garland from Etsy & this super fun Waldorf Arch set with rainbow drapes. So adorable!
We added a cushy beanbag chair for reading books and a soft comfy polar bear rug to curl up on and take a little rest from play. So dreamy!
To top it all off, we added this super cool geometric Bau Pendant with a swagged colorcord to match the hairpin legs. Love it!
Bedroom
In the adjacent bedroom, we wanted to carry the fun over from the playroom, but also create a cozy, calming space for sleeping. We selected the same Makelike Design wallpaper in a darker colorway to create a moody space, perfect for catching some Zzzzzs.
This was the kiddo's first "big kid" bed after transitioning from a crib, so we wanted to keep it low to the ground and easy to climb in and out. This adorable Montessori House Floor Bed from Etsy was perfect!
We found these super cute moon & stars pillows on Etsy. Just the thing for setting a sleepytime mood!
On the other side of the room, is a cozy reading area with a cushy rust velvet daybed & some super fun mountain range pillows from Etsy. We added a stump table from Kalon Studios, cutie cloud shelves to hold books and a huge fluffy sheepskin rug. Such a comfy spot!
For the walls, we paired the Makelike Wilderness wallpaper with painted mountains in a coordinating color. Neon clouds add another layer of imaginative fun to this kid's room!
We brought in little touches of woodland creatures & outdoor adventures throughout the room. Perfect for this young nature lover!
Two super fun spaces! Our client's young kiddo loves both of these rooms so much! What is your favorite feature from each of these rooms???
