RICHMOND BUNGALOW
FIRST FLOOR FURNISHINGS

Our clients, a sweet newlywed couple, bought their new home in the Richmond neighborhood but found that some of the lighting & paint choices didn't suit their style. Wise Design was brought on to help with those updates as well as furnishings for the main level of the home which included the living room, dining room, kitchen, den & powder bath.

We were very excited that our clients loved color & wanted to incorporate lots of fun into the design. In the living room, we selected a beautiful teal velvet fabric for a custom chaise sofa from Perch Furniture. We paired it with a Noguchi style coffee table, a (very comfortable) 70's style black leather chair, & a blush velvet modern wing-back chair. Neutral wool rugs layered with a high contrast cow hide provide softness & a touch of an organic pattern. In the dining room, a beautiful custom dining table & bench from Hedge House are the perfect compliment to the clients' heirloom French dining chairs upholstered in a graphic geometric fabric from Kelly Wearstler. A console from BluDot provides a backdrop as well as a climbing perch for their friendly cat, Biscuit. The kitchen had several craftsman-style pendants hanging throughout the space, including over the sink & back countertop. Replacing those pieces with minimal recessed lights allowed for Schoolhouse globe pendants and a woven pendant from Hay to take center stage.

In the den & adjoining powder room, the clients wanted to go with something really dramatic! The room was painted in a soothing teal blue/green color and we selected a coordinating wallpaper for the ceiling. The cozy factor continued with a pull-out sofa bed for guests, a stunningly colorful Moroccan rug & leather pouf. In the adjoining powder room, the same wallpaper as the den ceiling was repeated on the walls of the bath in a cream and gold color way. A Schoolhouse brass sconce & black framed pill-shaped mirror complete the space.
